R and D status of a high-brightness electron gun for future ERL light sources

Description

Development of a high-brightness electron gun for future light sources utilizing energy-recovery linacs is in progress. A 250 kV-50 mA DC gun with a GaAs photocathode has been developed. We recently had the first beam from the gun. Apparatuses for beam diagnosis to measure emittance and bunch length are under construction. (author)
