Studies of low energy positronium-gas scattering using age-momentum correlation

Creators

Description

In recent years there has been a growing interest in positronium-gas scattering. This interest has been in part due to recent experiments that have for the first time produced direct measurements of the momentum transfer cross-section. I will discuss a new effort to implement a fully realized age-momentum correlation apparatus. This apparatus will allow for at least an order of magnitude increase in statistical efficiency as well as large improvements in effective detector resolution. These advancements will enable new energy regimes to be studied as well as allow for the possibility of seeing an energy dependent momentum transfer cross-section
