Study of the parametric decay instabilities in the 2.45 GHz experiment on ASDEX

Description

A study of the parametric decay instabilities during lower hybrid experiment in the ASDEX tokamak is presented. The new grill launcher permits a better control of wave characteristics and therefore a closer comparison with numerical predictions. Direct RF-ions interactions do not occur and a study of the effect of the plasma instabilities on current drive and heating efficiency becomes possible
