Radionuclide observation in the Ignalina NPP environment during the period 1978-1997
Description
Artificial radionuclide occurrence observed in surface air layer at Geophysical station of the Institute of Physics (Lithuania) at 3.5 km from the Ignalina NPP during the period of twenty years is reviewed. The whole period is classified into four sub periods taking into account the characteristic 137Cs concentration. Occurrence of 207Bi was registered only on 16-18 March 1983. Moss samples taken around the Ignalina NPP revealed possible paths of radionuclide accumulation in the environment. (author)
