Subclassical particle diffusion across magnetic induction
Description
The launching of fast waves ω/k approximately (Tsub(e)/msub(e))sup(1/2), ωsub(LH), ωsub(pi) < ω, on a magnetized plasma column modifies the electron distribution function, reduces the bulk plasma resistivity, and causes a decrease in the observed crossfield particle diffusion coefficient, Dsub(perpendicular to B)αetasub(perpendicular to B).
