Description
The results obtained with the GASP array in the A∝130 mass region are reviewed, emphasizing the study of excited highly deformed bands and their decay out, the discovery of chiral doublet bands in the odd-odd Pr nuclei and of stable triaxial bands in Nd nuclei close to the N=82 shell closure. The very recent studies of nuclei near the proton drip line are described. A discussion of the origin of the various doublet bands observed in odd-odd nuclei of the A∝130 mass region is presented.
