The effect of a plate axial to the flow on the liquid distribution in annular two-phase flow

  • 1. Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Nottingham, University Park, Nottingham NG7 2RD (United Kingdom)

Description

The effect of a plate placed parallel to the flow direction across the diameter of a vertical tube containing annular two-phase flow has been studied experimentally. The plate has very little effect on the amount of liquid entrained as drops. A modification of an annular-flow model has been developed which correctly predicts the small changes in entrained fraction across the plate. ((orig.))
