Description
Heat treatment of cellulose nitrate (Daicel) at different temperatures has been carried out with a view to investigating the track revelation characteristics. The influence of heat treatment on bulk etching rate, Vsub(G) and track etching rate, Vsub(T) and consequently on the efficiency of etching has been discussed. The efficiency increased from 86% for unheated Daicel to 92.5% for heat treated Daicel. The possible causes for this effect are indicated. (author)
