On the efficiency of additional power generation at power units with the WWER type reactors

Different ways of increasing capacity of basic equipment including steam generators of dual cycle units with WWER-1000 reactors are discussed. It is shown, that certain capabilities for additional capacity generation appear, if a once-through steam-generator and a slightly overheated steam turbine are installed at the unit. A conclusion is drawn, that under reliable provision of increasing the power unit capacity to accomodate short-term and long-term load swings, a considerable technico-economic effect may be achieved
