Description

For radiation protection of workers in the nuclear power stations in Czechoslovakia the complex dosimetric system for photons, beta radiation and thermal neutrons has been introduced. For the limited number of workers with higher risk of neutron exposure the complex neutron dosimeter is used, which consists of solid state nuclear track detectors and a silicon diode. In conclusion, some characteristics of dosimeter calibration and interpretation methods as well as other tasks of personnel dosimetry in nuclear power stations are discussed, such as internal contamination monitoring of the staff, organization of periodic medical examinations, control of knowledge of ionizing radiation safety, etc. (author)
