Application of PSA study to Cernavoda NPP Unit 1

  • 1. Cernavoda NPP, 1, Medgidiei Street. RO-905200 Cernavoda (Romania)

Description

The core damage frequency calculated as part of Level 1 PSA study for Cernavoda Unit 1 includes contributions from Internal Events, Internal Fires, Internal Floods and Seismic Events, for plant full power operation and shutdown states. Application of PSA study, part of this presentation refers to: - Risk Monitor EOOS; - Preventive Maintenance Optimization; - Data Collection. Categories of events for which relevant data were collected include the following: - hardware failures as modeled in the PSA; - degraded conditions or incipient failures that did not constitute failures modeled in the PSA, but that resulted in unplanned unavailability for corrective maintenance; - events in which equipment was left in an unavailable state due to a human interaction (either an omission of a necessary restoration action, or inadvertent action that left the component unavailable); - common cause failures. At this moment, monitoring of plant specific reliability data on Cernavoda NPP, is performed based on specific procedure IDP-SN/A and MP-002, Rev.1. Thus, a number of 3589 components belonging to 22 systems are daily monitored in accordance with station procedure. (author)
