Description
The regularities were studied of the variations of the relaxatiion coercive force and of residual induction of low-alloy structural and plain carbon steels after hardening and tempering on the temperature range between 150 and 700 deg C. The possibility is discussed of using said parameters for checking the quality of hardening and of tempering 34KhN3M, 60S2A, 40Kh and others steels. It was shown that the residual induction is unambiquously related to the tempering temperature and may be suggested for checking the quality of such hardened and tempered items which do not lead themselves to coercive force inspection because of an ambiguous relationship with respect to the tempering temperature
