A 3D-Random pore model for the oxidation of graphite with closed porosity

  • 1. Dept of Materials Science and Engineering, The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, 43210 (United States)

Description

Highlights: • New graphite oxidation model includes effect of closed pores and sample size. • Constant growth rate assumption of open pore region is supported by experimental data. • Two parameters allow data to be extrapolated to different times or sample sizes. • Model compared well with two different sets of experimental data.
