Ward blanket assembly pre-test predictions by superenergy
Description
A number of WARD sodium cooled blanket geometry experiments in the mixed convection range were prepredicted by the computer code SUPERENERGY in the original version of this report. Of these tests one was actually run and is re-examined in Revision I. When account is taken of the difference between the assumed and actual test operating conditions and the temperature-induced variation of the Reynolds number with height in the bundle, the code results and test data compare very favorably. Of the other actual test cases examined in Revision I, the comparison with predictions was poor at low flows. Since these low flows however were predicted to be outside the mixed convection regime per Khan's criteria, the validity of the criteria is suspect and will be reassessed
