Charge distributions of sulfur ions at energies between 70 and 140 MeV

Description
Charge distributions of sulfur ions passing through carbon and beryllium foils of different thicknesses have been measured at energies between 69.5 MeV and 141.8 MeV. Rather thick foils (up to 188 μg/cm2 carbon) were needed to reach charge state equilibrium. The data show a strong difference between the stripping properties of carbon and beryllium. (Auth.)
