Study of the contribution of different mechanisms and their interference in the cross section for α-induced reactions using the distorted-wave method with a finite-range interaction

Description

We present the results of the first calculations of the cross sections for α-induced reactions on light nuclei using the distorted-wave method with a finite-range interaction. The interference of both the different mechanisms and the different states of the intermediate system is taken into account. It is shown that a complete inclusion of the dynamics of the process (overlap of the bound-state wave functions and the interaction potentials) leads to a change of the qualitative criteria for constructive interference obtained earlier taking into account only the nuclear structure
