Progress made by Framatome in neutron flux mapping technology
Description
A fixed in-core system based on self-powered neutron detectors (SPNDs) could improve the power distribution measurement accuracy and hence improve core operating margin knowledge. For that purpose, Framatome has tested rhodium neutron detectors as fixed in-core sensors. Two such in-core strings were installed during tie summer of 1997 at Golfech Unit 2, for a three-year experiment. (author)
