Investigation into plastic microdeformation during rolling of sheets of titanium alloys under industrial conditions

Description

The method of coordinate grids was employed to investigate final plastic microdeformations taking place in titanium alloy sheets. Fields of plastic deformations were studied on specimens from the VT6 alloy. Fields of final plastic microdeformations of rolled VT6 alloy sheets have a pronounced statistical character. The measure of randomness of plastic microdeformations depends on the structure of alloy (the coefficients of variation of microdeformations for cast and preliminarily deform metal is 0.3 and 0.2 respectively). In all the cases, the correlation between deformations of two elementary volumes having passed through the area of deformation damps attenuates at a distance of 2-3 grains, whereas the absolute magnitude of the range of correlation depends on medium-size grains
