Effect of annealing on structure and properties of hot-pressed boron carbide
Description
Annealing within the temperature range of 1873 to 2523 K is studied for its effect on structure and properties, microhardness and failure toughness of the hot-compacted boron carbide. It is shown that microhardness decreases by the linear law from 43 to 35 GPa while failure toughness has its maximum at 2373 K. Change of properties is specified by the change of the metal structure in the process of annealing
