Description
Surface fracture of an aluminum alloy caused by the action of a high power ion beam of nanosecond duration with various current densities are investigated. Specific types of fracture and the composition changes of the surface layer of this alloy are determined. Possible mechanisms of fracture are discussed. (authors)
