Description
The low-spin features of odd-mass nuclei in the Z∼62, N∼90 region, for which stable octupole deformations has been previously suggested, are studied without introducing the static intrinsic reflection asymmetry (SIRA). Calculations using a Woods-Saxon potential and taking into account the Coriolis mixing show that most properties can be described in this approximation. Furthermore, the calculated polarization energies of octupole-driving orbitals are not large enough to support the existence of SIRA at low spin in this region
