Free vibration of CNT reinforced skew composite plates: Fe analysis

  • 1. Department of Applied Mechanics, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Prayagraj 211004 (India)

Description

Plate/panel type structural elements of Carbon Nano Tube reinforced composites (CNTRC) are potentially important for engineering applications. Non-rectangular skew plates become essential for use sometimes. Free vibration behavior of skew CNTRC plates is studied here, using finite element analysis based on first-order shear deformation theory. CNTs are considered dispersed into matrix in four different types of volume fraction distribution varying across the thickness. The formulation developed, is incorporated into a computer program developed in-house. Effects of skewness and plate aspect ratio, with other parameters, on Natural frequencies, are evaluated from parametric studies, after due validation. (author)
