The Ssup(*)(975) meson
Description
The Ssup(*) production is associated with the observation of a rapid drop in π-π S-wave elasticity. Its existence is not doubtful. Its mass and width have been estimated to be (975 ± 4) MeV and (33 ± 4) MeV, respectively. Its main decay modes are ππ and KantiK. Its expected quantum numbers are CIsup(G) Jsup(p)=+O+O+, where symbols have their usual mea ning. An account of result obtained in the π-p interaction near production threshold has been presented along with results of others. Theoretical discussions on the results have also been included in this report. (author). 35 refs., 4 figs
