Elastic 12C-12C scattering at 2.4 GeV and the Glauber model

  • 1. Dept. of Physics, Aligarh Muslim Univ., Aligarh (India)

Description

We plan to give a fresh look to the nucleus-nucleus collisions, in which the Glauber model S-matrix in terms of nuclear correlations is evaluated and treat the pp and pn inputs on different footings. More specifically, since all the previous calculations fail to provide satisfactory explanation of 12C-12C elastic scattering data at 2.4 GeV, in this work a proposal has been made to analyse these data, and see if something more could be said about the NN amplitude
