The study provides no evidence that exposure to magnetic fields associated with the electricity supply in the UK increases risks for childhood leukaemia, cancers of the central nervous system, or any other childhood cancer. It was also a complex study because it needed to collect blood samples near children and their family to determine their immunological and genetic characteristics, a precise dosimetry to register the exposure to ionizing radiations and to magnetic fields, and a validation of histological diagnosis of the different tumors.
