Reaction between sodium alloys and the NaCl - KCl - SrCl2 melt
Description
Exchange reactions between sodium alloys and salt melts can be used for extracting strontium from the salt phase. The Gibbs energy and the equilibrium constant of the probable exchange reactions between sodium and the NaCl-KCl-SrCl2 melt are presented. Tin and cadmium are most promising for extracting strontium from strontium-containing potassium and sodium chloride melts
