Resonance structure of multiple-photon excitation in symmetric top molecules CF3Br, CF3I

  • 1. Comitato Nazionale per l'Energia Nucleare, Frascati (Italy)

Description

IR multiphoton resonances have been observed in the absorption spectra of CF3Br and CF3I excited by means of a continuously tunable CO2 laser. Their assignment shows the relevance of overtones and compound vibrations in the first steps of non linear laser excitation. Hot bands contributions at room temperature have been identified.
