Development of the High Resolution Neutron Powder Diffractometer for Material Structure Research

Description
After changing the control system into Rigaku modul, the characterization of the High Resolution Neutron Powder Diffractometer (HRPD/DN3) installed in the Neutron Guide Hall at the Center for Technology of Nuclear Industry Materials Serpong have been performed. The resolution curve of DN3 equipment is quite good comparing to the same equipment in the world, even though the neutron intensity in the sample position is quite low. The comparison between La8Sr2(GeO4)6O2 diffraction patterns obtained with DN3 equipment and HRPD at HIFAR-ANSTO shows that DN3 has a good performance and ready to be used in the material structure research. The next activities to improve the performance of DN3 equipment have also been discussed. (author)
