Electron-laser stepwise excitation coincidence experiment on the 61P1 state of mercury

Description
A new type of electron-photon coincidence experiment is presented which utilizes stepwise electron and laser excitation of the target atoms. The technique has been applied to the measurement of atomic collision parameters for e--Hg(6 1P1) collisions at an incident electron energy of 16.0 eV
