NUSIMEP-3: An external QC campaign for the measurement of uranium isotopic ratios in saline solutions

  • 1. European Commission, Joint Research Centre, Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (EC-JRC-IRMM), Geel (Belgium)

Description

The external QC campaign, NUSIMEP-3, has been completed and the results reported. The changes to the previous campaign, NUSIMEP-2 are pointed out and an overview of the measurement results is made. Samples of uranium of certified isotopic abundances were supplied in saline matrices and laboratories were requested to measure the isotopic ratios of 234U, 235U and 236U relative to 238U. Participating laboratories were also requested to complete a questionnaire from which it was expected that conclusions could be drawn on the experimental conditions necessary for good measurements on such samples.
