Effect of treatment method of glass surface on adhesion to it of vacuum indium condensates
Creators
Description
A comparitive experimental investigation of the effect of different techniques of glass surface treatment (shearing in vapour and air, washing by alcohol, treatment in goes flame and glow discharge) on adhesion to it of vacuum indium condensates has been carried out. On the base of the results obtained on indium film adhesion to a young glass surface a conclusion has been drawn that a joining in indium-glass system is basically determined by the Van-der-Waals forces. It has been shown that an increase of glass adhesion activity is connected with surface modification during a treatment in gas flame and glow discharge
