New data on large-angle two-particle correlations in intermediate energy (85A MeV) /sup 12/C+/sup 12/C and /sup 12/C+/sup 197/Au interactions are presented and compared to the results of basic calculations on quasi-elastic scattering and a sequentially recoiling thermal participant source
