Measurements and considerations concerning the application of X-rays under particular consideration of the X-radiation regulations
Description
The obtained results - concerning particularly occupational exposure to X-radiation and the magnitudes of organ dosages administered to the patients - for the first time led to quantitative information about the somatically significant dosage the population is exposed to due to roentgenological diagnostic measures. Proposals are made, which concern the performance of radiation protection seminars, for physicians, the organization of radiation protection responsibilities in hospitals and clinics, the determination of maximum permissible doses and the realization of medical supervision of persons occupationally exposed to X-radiation. A new dose magnitude is proposed which equally considers genetic and somatic risks. (DG)

Die gewonnenen Messergebnisse - vor allem Fragen der beruflichen Strahlenexposition und der Groessenordnungen von Organdosen der Patienten - fuehren erstmals zu quantitativen Angaben ueber die somatisch signifikante Dosis der Bevoelkerung infolge roentgendiagnostischer Massnahmen. Vorschlaege zur Durchfuehrung von Strahlenschutzlehrgaengen fuer Aerzte, zur Organisation der Strahlenschutzverantwortlichkeit in Krankenhaeusern und Kliniken, zur Festsetzung hoechstzulaessiger Dosen und zur Durchfuehrung der aerztlichen Ueberwachung beruflich strahlenexponierter Personen, werden unterbreitet. Ueberlegungen fuer eine neue Dosisgroesse, die genetische und somatische Risiken gleichrangig beruecksichtigt, werden angestellt. (DG)
