Calibration of 1220 Quantulus liquid scintillation spectrometer for tritium counting efficiency
Description
This paper described the method of calibrating 1220 Quantulus Liquid Scintillation spectrometer for tritium counting efficiency. The results show that the commercially available quenching correction standard source is used for calibration purpose, its adaptability to the samples to be measured should be checked at the first. Otherwise, there will be larger error in the measuring results of samples. For the routine measurement of tritium, the same preparation procedures can be used, with quenching efficient SQP (E) within the range of 711 to 732. Thus, quenching correction source series can be prepared with tritium-free water as quenching materials. On this basis, the quenching correction curve is obtained to calibrate the instrument's counting efficiency. (author)
