Description
In ultrasonic spectroscopy an incident broadband pulse is scattered on a target (flaw) and the resulting RF echo is frequency analysed. Analytical or numerical spectrum models can be developed for certain targets and the comparison with experimental data leads to real target size and structure characterization. Results of directivity function calculations in the integral equations formalism for various targets and theoretical spectra obtained with a CYBER 830 computer are presented. A comparison with the corresponding experimental spectra is included. The experimental results are obtained using the ultrasonic spectroscopy equipment at the INR Ultra-acoustics Laboratory. (Author)
