Description
Significance of fusion research, the subjects and results of researches in the world, International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project and Broader Approach (BA) activities are stated. The principle of DT fusion and blanket is explained. The main line of research, the tokamak, has been contributed to the core plasma researches with DIII-D, EAST, TFTR, JET, JT-60 and T-10, and the engineering design activities with superconducting coil, blankets, divertor, remote control robot, heat and current drive technology. In October, 2007, an agreement of ITER project was reached among the seven participants such as Japan, USA, EU, Russia, India, China and Korea. It will be based in Cadarache, France. The technical objects, main parameters, a bird's eye view of the whole ITER are described. The international fusion energy research center, fusion simulation center and ITER remote control experiment center will be constructed. The engineering experiments and design for ITER are planning. 世界の主要国は, 地球規模のエネルギー環境問題を解決する一つの方策として, 核融合エネルギーの実現に向けた研究開発に力を入れている。この研究開発を国際プロジェクトとして進める国際熱核融合実験炉 (ITER) の協定が2007年10月に成立し, 活動が開始された。また, ITER計画を支援するとともに核融合エネルギーの早期の実現に向けた幅広いアプローチ活動も日欧共同事業として開始された。このような状況にある世界の核融合研究開発の状況について2回に分けて解説する。1回目の今回は, 核融合研究開発の意義, 世界で取り組まれてきた研究開発の課題とその成果, およびITER計画や幅広いアプローチ活動の現況について解説し, 次回はITER計画や幅広いアプローチ活動を中心とした核融合研究開発課題に対するわが国の取組みを中心に解説する。(日本)Additional details
