Image optimization in vacuum-assisted and mammography-guided breast biopsy

Prevention, early detection, diagnosis and appropriate treatment of breast cancer are important elements of policies to improve women's health. The mammotomy exam is a vacuum-assisted breast biopsy guided by mammography/stereotaxis, it is a biopsy performed on breast tissue that presents some type of suspicion, of irregularity. This is one of the main tests for the detection of breast cancer and it is important to do it because, the earlier breast cancer is detected, the greater the chances of a good result for the patient¹. It is estimated about 59,700 new cases of breast cancer for each year of the 2018/2019 biennium². (author)
