Feedback control of Tokamaks

Description
A simple linearised model is developed which describes the dynamics of motion of the plasma column within a Tokamak device. More specifically, only rigid axi-symmetric displacements of the column are considered and no justification for treating the plasma column as rigid is given. Linear control theory is then used to examine the stability of the model using closed loop feedback control. The same model is simulated on a digital computer using CSMP-3 to arrive at the time response of the system due to a step input disturbance. The results of this simulation were found to be in close agreement with those of the analytical study
