Limits on short-range spin-dependent forces from spin relaxation of polarized 3He

Description
A new limit is presented on the axion-like monopole-dipole P,T-non-invariant coupling in a range (10-4-1) cm. The gradient of spin-dependent nucleon-nucleon potential between 3He nucleus and nucleons and electrons of the walls of a cell containing polarized 3He gas should affect its spin relaxation rate. The limit is obtained from the existing data on the relaxation rate of spin-polarized 3He.
