Charge Transport Properties of Strongly Structured Ionic Liquids

  • 1. Yildiz Technique University, Physics Department, Istanbul (Turkey)

Description

Ionic liquids and specially molten salts recently intensively studied both theoretically and experimentally to understand their structural and transport properties , because of their technological importance and advantage. In this study the charge transport model proposed for strongly structured molten salts before by us tried to extend ionic cluster systems and some convenient ionic liquids. In the strongly structured molten salts charge transport mainly dominated by halogen component. Local structure of strongly structured ionic system has various vibrational mode , by knowing bond-stretching mode frequency it is possible to calculate waiting time of halogen component in the local structure and than to find translational diffusion coefficients and sheer viscosity. For this study some polyvalent molten salts, and some ionic clusters examined to understand their charge transport properties
