BWR signal validation of GPU's Oyster Creek plant

Description
The project reported on here is part of an evolving effort to transfer signal validation methodologies to the nuclear power industry. EPRI has been instrumental in supporting much of this work. It is expected that the improved information reliability will lead directly to more confident operator response and to improved performance. Secondarily, the same high validity information database can be used as input for advanced computer-based operational aids, as well as for automatic control systems. In this paper, the authors summarize, with examples, signal validation efforts focused on a subset of the overall plant database of a BWR. Their primary concern is with the SPDS parameters indicating status of the suppression pool and dry well, and with the inventory of coolant in the reactor pressure vessel
