The influence of parton transverse momenta on large p spectra

Description

An approximate analytical method is presented to study the influence of parton transverse momenta on large p jet production. Parton transverse momentum distributions are used with Gaussian, power law and exponential shape. The single jet distribution at large p increase due to the parton transverse momenta k only by a factor of 2 to 3 within a reasonable range of . Furthermore, parton transverse momenta are found to be unable at present energies and transverse momenta to modify significantly the psup(-n) power behaviour of the large p distributions
