Quantum-resistance states of normal-superconducting layered films

  • 1. Wayne State Univ., Detroit

Description

The discrete resistance states of alternate layers of normal and superconducting films have been measured using lead and silver evaporated layers. A phenomenological theory based on quantised quasiparticle states in the normal layers appears to be well able to explain the result. The V-I characteristics of several composite layered configurations are treated in detail. 21 refs
