Mesonic degrees of freedom in nuclei and the definition of meson-exchange currents

Description
We describe the nucleus by a meson-nucleon system. Starting from a covariant field theoretical Hamiltonian we derive an effective Schroedinger equation for the nucleonic components. The meson-exchange currents are then defined unarbitrarily by an effective operator (current) in the space of the nucleonic components. The advantage over the S-matrix method is discussed. In the nonrelativistic limit the meson-current as well as the seagull (pair) current agree with the S-matrix result. Recoil and wavefunction orthogonalization cancels completely in this limit. Abstract (German)
Die Arbeit beschreibt den Kern durch ein Meson-Nukleon-System. Ausgehend von einem kovarianten feldtheoretischen Hamiltonian wird eine effektive Schroedingergleichung fuer die Nukleonenkomponenten abgeleitet. Im Anschluss daran werden die Mesonenaustauschstroeme nicht-willkuerlich durch einen effektiven Operator (Strom) im Raum der Nukleonenkomponenten bestimmt. Der Vorteil gegenueber der S-Matrix-Methode wird diskutiert. Im nichtrelativistischen Grenzbereich stimmen sowohl der Mesonenstrom als auch der 'seagull' (Paar) Strom mit dem Ergebnis der S-Matrix-Methode ueberein. Rueckstoss und Orthogonalisierung der Wellenfunktion heben einander in diesem Grenzbereich voellig auf. (orig.)Additional details
