Quark masses from the vector meson spectrum
Description
The relationship between quark masses and the masses of their vector meson bound states is studied. This is done by studying the properties of the hadronic contribution to the photon propagator to the second order in the electric charge. A definite method of regularizing the coefficient of the Schwinger term, the Zeta function, is studied. The asymptotic expansions of the vacuum polarization amplitude are also studied. The relationship between quark and vector meson masses is deduced from their comparison
