Baryon multipole moments in the single quark transition model
Description
It is shown that the predictions of the single quark transition model of the electromagnetic transitions of baryons can be expressed in a highly simplified form by the simultaneous use of multipole moments at the quark level and at the baryon level. The predictions so expressed are applied to the latest 'world average' photoproduction aplitudes and an excellent fit is obtained. The model also fits electroproduction amplitudes to within the errors. It is argued that the electromagnetic decays of baryon resonances to dileptons are of particular interest and widths for these processes are estimated. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Es wird gezeigt, dass die Vorhersagen des Ein-Quark-Uebergang-Modells fuer die elektromagnetischen Uebergaenge von Baryonen in einer stark vereinfachten Form durch die gleichzeitige Verwendung von Multipol-Momenten auf dem Quark- und dem Baryonen-Niveau ausgedrueckt werden koennen. Die auf diese Weise ausgedrueckten Vorhersagen werden auf den letzten Stand der 'weltweit gemittelten' Photoproduktions-Amplituden angewendet. Wobei eine hervorragende Anpassung resultiert. Das Modell beschreibt auch Elektroproduktions-Amplituden bis innerhalb der Fehlergrenzen. Wir vertreten die Meinung, dass die elektromagnetischen Zerfaelle von Baryonenresonanzen zu Dileptonen von besonderem Interesse sind, und es werden Breiten fuer diese Prozesse abgeschaetzt.
