Construction of a nuclear mass formula by means of a new strategy

  • 1. Waseda Univ., Tokyo (Japan)

Description

On the basis of new strategy, a new nuclear mass formula is constructed. A distinctive feature is new calculation method of shell energy of deformed nuclei. The deformed nuclei are calculated only by a spherical single particle potential. Our nuclear mass formula consists of three parts such as the global item, average odd-even item and shell item. The shell energy was calculated by each single particle level potential for proton and neutron. On the basis of them, the deformed shell energy is calculated by deformed parameters. This method is explained in this paper. The parameters of the global item and average odd-even item are determined by the experimental value of 1835 nuclei. The mean square deviation of this formula from the experimental values was 680.2 keV. The neutron and proton drip line were calculated. The neutron drip line existed between the drip line of TUYY formula and FRDM formula. (S.Y.)
