Description

Currently, the research on magnetic, optical, catalytic and electrochemical properties of Co3O4 created a great interest due to its wide technological applications. The applications include gas sensors, electrochemical devices, solid-state sensors, heterogeneous catalysts, and lithium-ion batteries. The chemical states of the elements were studied using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) which suggest the presence of Zn2+, Co2+ and Co3+ ions in the samples. An enhancement in the saturation magnetization was observed with increasing the Zn-substitution. The maximum Ms value (∼ 0.34 Am2/kg) was observed for x =0.0 I composition
