Description
Authors designed 2 applicators of different diameter for the treatment of tumours localized on the waginal wall to deliver the required dose to the tumour-bed and to ensure the radioprotection of the critical organs. The dose-field of the applicators consisting of a radiation source of sup(60)Co and of a brass absorbent was determined by filmdensitometry, thermoluminescent dozimetry and by calculations. It was found that within the error-verges the three methods gave the same results. The study of the dose-field of the 2 different applicators show that they are suitable for the treatment of such tumours. Authors suggest that using other absorbent and/or other radiathion source, the dose distribution can be more favourable. (author)
