Cell proliferation in the reproductive organs of the beagle bitch during pre-estrus and early estrus

Description

The cell proliferation was determined in the reproductive organs of five beagle bitches during various phases of pre-estrus and early estrus. The method of autoradiography after pulse marking with (3H)-thymidine was used. The marking index and the number of necrobiotic as well as necrotic granulosa cells was determined. Further, the relative number of Graafian follicles as well as that of growing and vesicular follicles with their various atresian states was ascertained. (orig./MG)

Abstract (German)

Die Zellproliferation wurde in den Reproduktionsorganen von fuenf Beagle-Huendinnen waehrend verschiedener Phasen des Prooestrus und des fruehen Oestrus ermittelt. Angewandt wurde die Methode der Autoradiographie nach Pulsmarkierung mit (3H)-Thymidin. Es wurde der Markierungsindex und die Anzahl nekrobiotischer sowie nekrotischer Granulosazellen bestimmt. Ferner wurde die relative Anzahl von Graaf'schen Follikeln sowie von wachsenden und vesikulaeren Follikeln mit deren verschiedenen Atresiestadien ermittelt. (orig./MG)
